Wakey wakey, rise and shine!

I hate getting out of bed. I always have. Each morning it is a personal struggle to resist hitting the 'snooze' button one more time and extract myself from the cosy warmth of my duvet. It is safe to say that I am not a morning person.

My numerous clumps of Dracunculus vulgaris are waking up right now. Their internal alarm clock must have been ringing as they are currently just poking their heads out from the warm, insulating duvet of soil that has kept them snug all winter. Braving the chilly February wind and dreary skies, perhaps they, like me, would rather go back to sleep for just a little longer!

It is always an exciting time when dormant plants spring back into life! Roll on Spring!
